background and comment issue *SOLVED*

  • Nov. 30th, 2007 at 1:09 PM
I searched through as many of the tags as I could, but since I really didn't know exactly what I was looking for it was difficult to know if it had already been posted.

My problems are this:

1. I can't get the background behind the content to be the same color as the content background in my side bar and behind my entries. I don't know why this is since I was able to fix it in another journal I made. I've tried everything I can think of and still have this big white black under my entries/sidebar and a white bar beneath my header. SOLVED thanks!

2. I can't read the text in every other comment since my text is set to white and the comments alternate between #000033 (midnight blue) and white. How can I fix this? SOLVED thanks!

3. Also less important is there a way to remove the blue bar of color beneath my header to make the image line up with the top of the entries/sidebar SOLVED thanks!

Here is what I have in my custom CSS

#page-inner {
width: 700px;
margin: 0 0 0 0;
background-color: #000033;

#content-inner {
padding-top: 10px;
padding-right: 0;
margin: 0;
background-color: #000033;

#header, #header-content {
    background-image: none;

#header-inner {
    background-image: url(http://pics.livejournal.com/inufan625/pic/00016tz7);
    height: 300px;

#container-inner, #header-inner {
    width: 700px;
#alpha {
    width: 510px;
.layout-tw #alpha-inner {
    width: 470px;

#header-content-inner {
    margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
     padding-bottom: 0px;
#alpha, #alpha-inner { background: #000033; }

#beta, #beta-inner { background: #000033; }

.widget .widget-header,
.widget .widget-header a {
color: #ffffff;
text-decoration: none;

.widget-content {
padding: 0 15px;
font-size: 11px;

body {
font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 12px;

.asset-name { font-weight: bold; }

.asset-name a,
.page-header3 {
color: #ffffff;

#header-name a {
color: #000033;
font-family: Comic Sans, Comic Sans MS, cursive;
font-size: 30px;
text-decoration: italic;

#header-description a {
color: #000033;
font-size: 20px;
text-decoration: underline;

body {
background: url(http://pics.livejournal.com/inufan625/pic/00012z6f) left top repeat #000033;

Thanks in advance!

About your first problem.

If you have a time, please try this code. If it not change the background color as you want or you had already tried these, I'm so sorry.

I hadn't tried them, but I did now and unfortunately none of them fixed the problem, but thanks for trying!

Sorry, I was answering a bunch of other questions and missed yours! This should fix the padding between the header and content and fix the white background below the sidebar:
.layout-tw #content-inner {background-image: none; background-color: #000033;}
#content {padding-top: 0;}

Thanks so much! It fixed everything!
