Date/Time are now missing from all my entries

  • Oct. 29th, 2007 at 10:47 PM
After pouring through the tags for the last two days I have not come across a solution to my problem, so I thought I'd make a post and beg for some help. The other day I decided to change out the header image for my journal, no problem. I was not changing anything else besides the header image, but once I added in the new image for some reason the date/time display in all of my entries vanished. And for some reason now, the "previous20" text is showing up at the top of my first entry as well as at the bottom of the page.

I've checked to make sure the scrollbar is not on for entries( which was a suggested solution to this problem in tags, but it was already off) and since I'm not using a seperate CSS of my own, just modifying the existing expressive layout none of the other info on date/time issues really helped.

If anyone has a clue what I need to do to fix this I'd love some help. Thanks!

**Edited to add** Now for some reason the header above my tags is not showing up, nor is any of my custom text on the left sidebar.

What browser are you using? I see dates and times fine in FF2.0 and IE7.

I'm using IE6, but the date/time only disappeared yesterday (after having been showing up fine for over a year) and I've been using IE6 the entire time, so I am stumped.

Also, I just looked at the page source, and you have some messed-up CSS syntax in there: Extra closing brackets, a font that's in parentheses (it shouldn't be), this line that doesn't do anything: repeat-n #90699B; etc.. Any of those things could screw with the CSS parser of a browser. I'd recommend you correct the syntax (the tutorials here will help) and ensure each "{" has only one "}".

I went in and cleaned up the code, and when I viewed my journal the date/time showed up for a brief moment when the page loaded, but then disappeared again. This is just the craziest thing.

Well, that's an easy one. Your sidebar backgrounds and text are all the same color:
.widget-header,
.widget-content,
.archive-widget .widget-list .item {
color: #F4E0F9;
}
#beta, #beta-inner { background: #F4E0F9; }
#gamma, #gamma-inner { background: #F4E0F9; }

You also have comments-header in there twice, but the second is missing the leading ".".
The date/time thing is still confusing, because I copied all your CSS into my journal (with the snowman base theme) and the dates still showed. I couldn't get them to disappear reliably in your or my journal. Try adding this to the CSS and see if it helps:
.asset-meta {height: 1%;}

OY! How did I not notice that I had done that? I guess I had been staring at it all for so long it all started to run together. Thanks!
The date/time thing is still proving annoying, since the date was there before. I guess I'll have to hope it decides to reappear as suddenly as it disappeared.
