Porting a layout - Many Questions

  • Aug. 17th, 2007 at 3:31 AM
Hi, this is my first post in this community, and I have some questions that i hope someone can answer.
Here is the layout I'm porting: http://www.ilemoned.com/wordpress/wptheme-dark
Here is my journal: http://sean-fletcher.livejournal.com/

Account Type: Paid
Layers: None
Browser: Mozilla Firefox

Q1: Fixed

Q2: Fixed: .customtext-widget

Q3: How do I fix the date so that it is not a list item?

Q4: How do I remove all the entry footer links, excetp for "# Comments" and "Post a Comment"?

Q5: How can I move the Subject text to be right above the entry?

Q6, Q7, Q8: Two tag icons are shown next to each tag item, but I don't know why. I'd also like to know how to move the tags up benith the date, and how to remove non-hyperlink text (I don't want commas)

Q9: On the navigation links, there is a line, which I want to be there, but how can I make it go up higher? (Very top of page)

Q10: Can I add another image to the header I have one defined in the CSS, but it doesn't work. If not, how can I remove the "Sean" Link next to the navigation.

Q11: I REALLY want to resize all userpics (All pages, Friends, comments, ect) to be 24 pixels, but it won't change.

Q12: How can I put a footer section on all my pages, like on iLEMONed's site? Not the same content, because I don't thinks that's possible, but I just want the footer section.r

A lot of things don't have properties, yet, either because I haven't gotten to that point, or because I don't know what they do.

I'm really sorry for asking so many questions, and being such a newb on my first post, but these are the things I just can't figure out.

I saw your post in everything_lj but didn't get around to answering there. This is a complicated layout to port; I'm actually very impressed you got as far as you did!
Are you planning to release it to all users, or just Paid/Permanent? I ask because some of the things you want to change (entry footer links entry layout, footer content) would require customized theme layers. The rest of it, I can help with, but it's going to take a little time.

I've been using S1 for a couple of years, so I'm not really used to only being allowed to use CSS and Layers (I don't even know how to use layers). So, really, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, to keep this layout as accurate as possible, it'd have to be just for Paid/Permanent accounts.

I gave the stylesheet a bit of tweaking last night, but I didn't have a chance to set up the sidebars the same way as your journal, or to delete all of the unused stuff. I'm still not sure what you're trying to do with some of the stuff, like images and userpics.
And, of course, I forgot to give you the link: here.

Thank you! It looks much better, but I have some questions:
How can I move the subject text to be right above the comment, but not move the date? I'd also like to know how to move the date up, so that it's even with the subject. You can see what I'm talking about here

Sorry, that link doesn't work:

I'm sorry I haven't been able to spend a lot of time looking over this layout lately. There were several things I couldn't figure out how to do that didn't require major code re-writes. Did you still have some outstanding issues?
