i first want to thank this community, av8rmike and redwolf. i was able to find majority of the things i need on this community and with av8rmike's & redwolf's help tweak my lj to my liking. so thank you :)

second... even after searching through the tags a few times, i still have two issues:

1. i want to change the font face of my nav bar (recent entries, archive, friends, etc). i know this is already covered but the codes given didnt work for me so i must be doing something wrong.

this is the code i have for changing the face of the nav bar

#header .nav .current a { font-family: 13px "Trebuchet MS", Arial, sans-serif; }

2. i want to remove the sidebar in my friend's page. i found an entry about removing the sidebar for the comments page but not for friend's page.

i apologize in advance if this was covered already. i swear to god i went through the tags! lol

i am on a permanent account, using chopsticks theme and on firefox 2

any help is appreciated! thanks!

1. That code will only affect the font face for the current view item, i.e. "Recent Entries", "Friends", or "Archive". It won't change the whole nav bar. Use this instead:
#header .nav .item {font-family: 13px "Trebuchet MS", Arial, sans-serif;}

2. You can use the solutions from that entry, just substitute .lj-view-friends for .lj-view-entry.

I screwed up the link in #2, and I didn't notice that you had the wrong syntax for font-family. You need either:
#header .nav .item {
font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Arial, sans-serif;
font-size: 13px;}

OR something like:
#header .nav .item {
font: normal 13px "Trebuchet MS", Arial, sans-serif;

haha it's ok, i was able to find the link :) but your good effort is lost as i realized my banner looks weird without the sidebar (bc of that connecting line on the banner) :/

but thanks anyway! it worked for the friend's page

as for the link. it's still beign dumb. none of the two worked for me.

thank you for being patient with me

The nav bar is showing in the correct font for me. So, I guess I don't understand what's broken now. =(

OH, so YOU see it as the right font?!?! maybe it's my browser?

There's an extraneous "}" right above the nav bar specifier. IE apparently ignores the brace and reads the CSS, but it's causing Firefox to reject the CSS declaration. That's also why moving some declarations around had different effects.
