Color change for sidebar: SOLVED

  • Jul. 6th, 2007 at 3:38 PM
Wow! After reading all of the suggestions here, I've practically created a whole new layout for myself. You guys are so clear and consice with your info that even someone like me can figure it out and I thank you!

Now here's my last remaining problem: I wanted to find out how to change the background color for the sidebar, which I did. And I applied it with no trouble at all. well, nearly no trouble at all. The problem is, it only changed the BG color for the top half of the side bar. After that it goes back to the original color. What happened? Can it be fixed, or is that just the way it is?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I can't see any of your entries, nor the bottom of the sidebar, but I'll take a stab here:
.layout-tw #content-inner { background-image: none;}
You could also add in a background-color: specifier.

She has zero public entries but next time you may want to check her friends page. I always do this, because some users in LJ has that Friends Only policy.

Thanks, but I knew what she was talking about anyway. Some of the themes have a background gif that isn't a part of either #beta or #gamma, but looks like it is.

Woo Hoo! Sorry that I forgot to unlock my journal there so you could get a proper look, but you fixed it anyway! Thanks SO much. :0)

I am also having this problem, and can't seem to rectify it with this code. Where abouts should I place it in the order of coding? I'm using the custom CSS box in the customize part of LJ, I'm a paid account using S2 - any help is very gratefully received!

You didn't put anything in the wrong place, you just need to change the background color like I wrote in the first comment.

I thought this entry might help me, but it's not quite what I need actually.
I've added a background image to my sidebar, but it cuts off after the syndicate column. How can I make the sidebar extend to the bottom of the page?

I answered in this comment.

I tried that, actually, but no such luck-- I've finally gotten a background image to appear, but now it ends after the syndication column. The rest of the page is my body color. :-/

Either I'm confused, or you've managed to fix it because I see the blue background image the whole length of the sidebar column.
