CSS Suddenly Not Working - SOLVED!

  • Feb. 23rd, 2007 at 10:24 PM
Account Type: Paid
Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.2

.asset-body{
overflow: auto;
max-height: 450px;
padding-top: 5px;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
text-align:justify;
}
.asset-inner{
overflow: auto;
}
.widget-list{
text-align: center;
}
.widget-header{
text-align: center;
}

I noticed that the headers in my sidebar were not centered, although I thought they were without needing to alter the style sheet.
I went ahead and entered h3.widget-header{
text-align: center;
}
, but nothing changed. I removed the h3 and still nothing changed. So I went back and removed .widget-list{
text-align: center;
}
to see if maybe it was interfering with the header, but again nothing changed except for my links and tag cloud no longer being centered. Then it got really frustrating, because when I reentered the .widget-list code..my links and tag cloud did NOT center again.

I checked to see if there were any known bugs or site issues and have not found anything, so I really have no idea what is going on.

Nope, it's not a bug.
.asset-inner{
overflow: auto;
)

No..
I saw the mistake when I posted and fixed my code but forgot to fix this entry... (doing that now).

There really IS a problem. But thanks for the heads up.

Re: No..
I just loaded your journal (10:57a EST), and the close parenthesis was definitely still there. Where are you entering the CSS, in the theme layer or Customize Journal area? Check your layers page to make sure there isn't a user layer that's overriding.

Re: No..
Found it...fixed one and screwed up another (when I was trying different customizations) :$

Sorry.

Do I mark this as solved or just delete the post?

Re: No..
I'd say leave it, because I don't want other people to think it's OK to delete their posts once their problem is solved, no matter how trivial.

I had the same issue about a week ago. (Same version of Firefox) In my case, all CSS (for everything) stopped working. Dumping the cache completely seems to have fixed it.

Hope this helps.

Just to make sure I did this correctly...

  • Tools
  • Options
  • Private Options
  • Check marked everything except browsing history, cookies & saved passwords
  • "Clear Now"
  • "Ok"
  • Restart Firefox

Did I miss anything?

CSS still not working. Do I have to restart my computer as well?

Oh, and Thanks by the way.

Well, I wiped everything with the exception of stored passwords. I also had all my add-ons turned off at the time. I don't recall having to reboot the machine, but I could be missing something.

Sorry.

No need to apologize! :) I hope I didn't come of as rude/upset. I'm just frustrated with the problem. Nothing seems to be working.

I can't see how cookies or Browser History would get in the way.....

Not at all. I just don't know why it worked for me and isn't working for you.

Trust me, I was fairly irate for the 36 hours I was forced back into IE. I feel your pain.
