Making footer and comments stretch to alpha column width - SOLVED

I've been digging through the tags for hours looking for a solution to these, and I can't find it for the life of me. In my rp journal rokudaimeyo, I'm using the Unity Blue version of Expressive on a paid account. I've adjusted the layout size to what I want, but the footer won't adjust; it's still the original length.

This is the custom CSS I've got currently:

#container-inner, #header-inner { width: 1200px;}
#gamma {float: right;}
#alpha-inner {width: 1000px;}

.asset-content {width: 790px; text-align: justify;}

.asset-tags .asset-tags-header {
font-weight : bold;
}

/* Three columns on home pages */
.layout-twt #content-inner { background-image: url(http://www.fanworkrecs.com/naruto/blog/bg-content-twt.gif); }

#header {
background-image: url(http://www.fanworkrecs.com/naruto/blog/bg-header.png);

Any messing around I do with asset-footer gets me no changes whatsoever, so obviously, I am not doing something right.

The second issue is comments. They also do not expand all the way over, and I'm at a total loss as to what I need to change to make them do so (while still indenting as the thread progresses, as normal.)

Any help would be appreciated!
