Getting rid of options/sidebar tweak

  • Feb. 10th, 2007 at 10:57 PM
Oh, wait, something else I cannot figure out. Surprise?

How do I get rid of the 'track this' link option under my entries? And also the annoying 'select' ticky box in the comments.

Layer here.

Edit: Sorry. How do I get a line to appear under the last sidebar category? In my case, a line under the links I keep there?

What you're asking for in the linkbar isn't strictly impossible, but does require completely re-writing two functions that the core layer handles. It might take a while to figure it out, and you'd be taking away some functionality. Also, it looks like you've got a workaround already.
What does the comment about the sidebar mean? You want a line under the Syndicate module?
Did your issues from the other post get resolved?

Really? That's so odd! You'd think it would be a relatively simple thing, because you can change so much else. I've just taken away the text; the link itself is still there, but is blank space. I can live with that, it's not a problem. Although I am wondering why I can't change the text of 'link' like with the other links... The comments links do still annoy me, though. I keep hitting 'ink' instead of 'reply'.

The sidebar - yeah, basically. You know the little thin line that separates the modules from the next? I just want one under the last module as well.

I got everything else resolved, thank you :) Between the lovely people here, and comment-chatting with an flister, I got it all fixed. Thanks :)

The elements like the top linkbar, entry/comment linkbar, and metadata are stored in a specific order in the S2 Core layer; the layout code just iterates through an array and prints each one. I've already rewritten one function to handle the metadata, but to be honest, I think you're the first person to ask about changing the linkbar. Thus, I didn't see a need to re-work any others.

Although I am wondering why I can't change the text of 'link' like with the other links...
set text_permalink = "Linkety_Link";
in your theme layer somewhere.

You know the little thin line that separates the modules from the next? I just want one under the last module as well.
.syndicate-widget {
    border-bottom: 1px solid #683c39;
}
Change the color/style accordingly. You'll also have to change "syndicate" if you change the order of your sidebars.

Okay, I think I understand. And, ha! I'm just ahead of the crowd ;)

That link coding worked, thank you!

Okay, the syndicate coding, that goes in the custom css box? I've got rid of the syndicate option, so my last module is links, but .links-widget doesn't do anything - what part did I get wrong?

Thank you :)

Strange... Under your links list, I see the "syndicate" widget... the one that has the buttons for RSS and Atom syndication. The two widgets you've disabled in the CSS are "Powered by" and "Designed by". You mean you don't see this?

Well, in any case, if you want the border under the links widget, the class name is .typelist-widget{}.

Oh, hang on. The 'syndicate' option was gone on my flist, but not my main journal page. I've gone through and set 'syndicate' to 'none' again, and they've both gone now.

Hum. I've put this into the custom css and it isn't showing up...

That's because you put in an extra "}" and "." =)
.typelist-widget{}.
