So, I've noticed this in a few different places. The nav bar at the top of journals is a tad bit shy of the edge of the actual journal. Now, this I sorta expect to happen when people post super crazy wide images and stuff, but this is with the standard journal width (this community falls victim to this as well).

Is there something I can do to fix this, or is this just something that the nav bar at the top does, and I should get over it?

What browser are you using? I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.9, and when the window is maximized (1024x768), the nav bar is the full screen width. That's on my journal, your journal, the community's journal, and a few others I checked. ;) Unfortunately, the CSS that controls the nav bar isn't modifiable from the Configure Journal pages. If it does bug you, maybe submit a support request, or suggest something at lj_design?

I'm using safari, and I don't maximize my browser windows. same resolution as yours.

I might go pop over to lj design or support. thanks.

It happens when the width of the journal is wider than the width of the browser window (aka when there's horizontal scrollbars). If you make your browser window thinner, you should notice the gap getting wider (the smaller the horizontal scrollbar, the bigger the space after the navstrip ends).

I'll see if this issue is already noted (and/or if there's some reason why it's this way). This happens to all layouts, not just Expressive/Mixit/etc.
