Friends Colours not working?

  • Oct. 26th, 2006 at 11:55 PM
Is anyone else having a problem with their specified friends colours not working? The background colour around the user icons is still fine, but the text is all displaying as the default link colour (dark blue, for Hills: Midnight). I'm guessing the link colour is overriding it or something. It just started doing this tonight, and it's pretty annoying, as the background for a lot of mine is black which makes the blue unreadable.

Any ideas? I haven't done anything at all to customize link colours anywhere, and I don't have any css that is at all related. And it's doing it in both Firefox and Safari.

Same thing is happening to me and I was going to post here to ask about it too. It is incredibly annoying and I hope someone will provide a fix for it soon D:

I haven't done anything to my colours either, it just.. happened. I am also using Safari.

I suspect a recent code push has added something that overrides the friends colors. Looking at the HTML for the user icon area, the friends colours have been added to the surrounding <div> instead of to the <a>, so the global link colour settings now take precedence. This should fix it on Firefox, unfortunately, it doesn't work on IE6:
.user-icon a {
color : inherit;
}
I'm using an Urban variant and found that extra line breaks have been added to the user icon area that leave a big gap between the lj name and the community name. This tweak fixed that little bug:
.user-icon br {
font-size : 1px;
}

(whoops)

That worked - thank you so much! I just noticed that extra line break too, and while your fix didn't work didn't work in Safari, this did:

.user-icon br {
display: none;
}

Thanks again!

No worries. I like your display: none; solution, it's much more elegant than my font size hack.

thanks. I try. ;) The font size thing was creative, at least. :)
