Header Nav Links & header text

  • Oct. 23rd, 2006 at 11:51 AM
I'd like to move the header nav links to the bottom right of my banner, underneath the text on my graphic, and remove the autogenerated text.

I've set both the header-text and header-description to "display: none" but it is still showing up, and it seems like no matter what padding or margins I use on the nav links, they are staying in the upper left. Is there something else I need to override to get the css changes here to take effect?

ETA: **headdesk**

Oy. I had the right code, but assumed there was another piece I needed to override b/c it didn't work.

Turns out I just missed a closing bracket in a previous section, so the rest wasn't being seen.

I posted a similar question last week. See my post.

I included the css I'm using, including the fix I ended up with. Specifically, you might try:

#header-name { display: none; }
#header-description { display: none; }
#header-content-inner {margin: 210px 15px 5px 458px;}

In the "header-content-inner" code, the first px margin is the number of pixels down from the top of the header (210 for me), and the last px is the number of pixels from the left (458 for me). Both of these numbers will be important for you to play with to get your nav links where you want them.

you might also want to try visibility:hidden; in additon to display:none;

Thanks - turns out I lost a closing bracket in a previous section. I got it working now. :)
