I would really love to import my twitter feed to the sidebar of my livejournal-- is it possible to import an rss feed to the sidebar? I've googled around to no avail, which makes me suspect it just can't happen, sadly...
A lot of what I've found when looking things up is that to translate an RSS feed to HTML, you have to run a script. Obviously that can't happen with livejournal directly, but if I were to load the script elsewhere and essentially run the script/rss feed through another server before importing it to lj...could that work?

I only know of one Twitter "badge" that doesn't use JavaScript, so it will work on LJ. Is that what you're looking for?
As far as RSS feeds, the only ways I've seen to post a RSS feed in a journal sidebar use JavaScript. I don't even understand the last sentence of your post or if that's even remotely feasible.

Thanks! I don't want to pull in a big shiny blue badge that doesn't match my site-- I really just want to pull in the text. Would the badge you're talking about work that way?

I think I was just thinking aloud in the last sentence-- in order to just pull in the text, I could run the RSS feed through a script to turn it into html, which I could then put in my sidebar. Since the script couldn't be hosted on livejournal, it would have to be on my own server. That might all be more trouble than it's worth though.

I don't think this badge does that, but you can check. I found it at bunnyherolabs.com.

I have seen communities that called PHP scripts hosted on external sites, so I guess that's possible. I just know very little about the mechanics of what the script would need to output.

I've checked out that site and done a search, but can't seem to find anything related to twitter on it. Do you have a direct link?

Try this?

Hm, no matter what username I put in there-- even if I put in bunnyhero, the default, it says "cannot find that user."

Oh. I don't use it or Twitter, nor did I create it, so didn't have any idea if it still worked.
