SOLVED: Expressive + Firefox Only Issue?

  • Sep. 19th, 2006 at 6:26 PM
I have done several things in order to figure out what the problem is but so far it seems like all pages viewed in Firefox have lost their margins and my header bg image is MIA as well (though in IE everything is just fine).

I am I the only one seeing this? It's driving me nuts!

FIXED! Thanks to forsakenwk for heading me in the right direction! I had to manually remove cache and reinstall Firefox but it did the trick! Hopefully others will not have so much trouble... :_P

i don't have exactly your issue, but i swear the wrapper is wider - i have to maximize Firefox to see the body background at all.

*nods* I was viewing stuff earlier and them -bam- the next page did that and I haven't been able to fix it! Very annoying. :_(

I'm looking at your journal in Firefox and it looks fine. Can you try adding ?nohtml=1 to your links and see if that makes it look okay? For example,

http://wineandravens.livejournal.com/?nohtml=1

If so, then there is a problem with your entries (most likely protected, since I don't see the effect).

But yeah, the header image is missing. I can see that.

It's not just my pages... but ALL pages in the style. Even if I log-out and view other journals and communities. It's weird... and this happened before I made any custom changes!

Err... Ok, never mind; I just realized that you had screenshotted this community as well... I don't know what the problem may be.

What version of Firefox do you use? And what's your OS? (Windows XP, Mac 10.3, something else?) Since this doesn't seem to be happening in all versions of Firefox, narrowing it down will help toward fixing it.

Win XP, FF 1.5.0.7

I have also taken to switching between the different themes for Expressive and oddly enough each one reacts differently. Some have somewhat of left margin and show the custom header image, some don't.

Excellent, thank you.

*scratches nose* That sounds like it might be something to do with the css, yeah. If it isn't too much trouble, can you try to keep track of which themes show headers, and which retain some margin? The themes were written by three or four different people, total, and it may be something about how they phrased their style sheets. If we can track that down, we may be able to figure out a fix.

Little/No Margins & No Header

Beyond that I'm no help, as I'm stuck with a Plus account atm. Hope that helps!

Hi there, I'm not sure if you've found a solution already for this problem, but...This was happening to me as well with Firefox so, after trying a few things with little luck, I decided to clear my cache. Once I did that, everything was back to normal. It may not solve your situation, but it's worth a try.

I thought about that right away too... but it didn't work for me. I cleaned every thing out in hopes that was what the problem was. It really bites. :(
