Questions about Header

  • Feb. 3rd, 2009 at 9:29 AM
I'm new to this community and had a problem. I checked the tags and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using the Kaboom Bros Graffiti layout by Mixit. I was able to change my header and get the height and width perfect with little to no problems. My only trouble is that I want to center the header image and move the navigation links and journal title all the way over to the left and up maybe an inch or less, so it's not covering the writing on my graphic. I have a Plus Account.

EDIT: Looks like the problem is solved for now. Thanks to everyone for their help!

For one thing, you don't need three #header-inner{} specifiers; you can combine them all into one and add the margin line to center:
#header-inner {
    background-image: url(http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k213/LivingDeadGirl223/ljheader1-1.jpg)
    height: 355px;
    width: 795px;
    margin: 0 auto;
}
Then, you can increase the last number in the margin specifier under #header-content-inner{} to move the nav links to the right.

Actually, I already tried it without the extra specifiers, but for some reason it wouldn't work.

Oh... I also missed it the first time-- you're missing the ; from the end of the background-image line.
