Lots of Questions. SOLVED!

ALL SOLVED!!

Thanks for the help!

I don't even know where to start! I'll number them out, thanks in advance for any help!

Some constants firsts:
*paid account
*I'm not good at creating css, but I can cut/paste and tweak a bit
*I'm specifically trying not to use the .css box. I'm interested in being able to save my layouts with text and colors and everything so I can just switch to it if needed.

1. I've looked and couldn't find the color scheme for Oddities_Purple which is the layout I want to use, but I know it's got to be somewhere. Any ideas on where I can find it?

2. How do I get rid of the "User Info, Recent Entries, etc..." text? I've seen how to put it in the .css box, but how do I actually work it in my theme?

3. How do add a header? I've read the tuts, but everytime I compile I get errors. I'm probably missing something really simple.

4. How do I use a header with an image map? I've used one before, but it was so long ago and it was on flexible squares.

5. How do I change the post header image thingy? The one at the beginning at each title. Again, I saw that you could do it in the .css box, but I want it in the theme.

Thanks so much for the help!

There's a tutorial here that covers adding CSS to a theme layer (you'll want "method 2" where it gives a choice. Anything you add in the Custom CSS box just goes into a user layer instead of a theme layer. That should take care of #2, #3, and #5.
The tutorial for image maps is here
I don't think I understand what #1 means.

Usually there's a part of the code that outlines all the colors and text so they can be edited directly from the theme layer. I can't find the code for Oddities_Purple at all. It's like it doesn't exist, but it is Expressive.

ps. Thanks for the image map link, I was looking everywhere. It's going to take a little bit to get through it, but I'm really excited to try!

This maybe? That's the closest thing I can think of, and maybe the reason you couldn't find it is because Oddities is actually under Mixit and not Expressive, even though the code is identical.

That's exactly it! YAY! Thanks so much. I didn't even think about looking under Mixit *headdesk*.

Ooh, so is there a Mixit comm, or will the same code work?

even though the code is identical.

It's all the same code. s2mixit just redirects back here for that reason.

Hey Mike, I've got a slight issue with the code for the entry header. Neither one of the codes work independently, but they both work together! And then they push everything to the second line instead of the title line.

Code: http://www.livejournal.com/customize/advanced/layerbrowse.bml?id=10767355

GAH!

That isn't the problem. The line before the asset header part has "#" used to mark a comment where it should be a "/*...*/" pair. Then, you can delete the .asset-stream .asset-header section, and adjust the positioning and padding in the second section.

The "#Post..." thing is just something I added so I can find the code easily. It works, but instead of putting the lips on the first line next to the title, it gets put on the second line.

Change the second number for background-position.

Fixed! And since you're up ;) Can you take a look at my image map? I followed all of the directions, but the link for friends isn't showing up and some of the spacing is off, but I put in the exact numbers and I can't figure out what to adjust to fix it.

In your Page::lay_print_header_links() function, your ID for friends doesn't match what's in the style sheet. In other words, you have <dd id="friends">, when it should say "picfriends".

Because of course it would be something sooo simple! Thanks so much!
